Transparent backgrounds

Get PNG cutouts with a real see-through background - products, furniture, logos, icons and game assets - from a description or cut out of your own photo. Pro and Ultra.

Ask Vizzy for a cutout and you get a PNG with a real see-through background: a product for a store, a piece of furniture for a moodboard, a logo, an icon, a sticker or a game asset. Place it on any page, slide or scene and only the object shows.

Pro and Ultra

Transparent backgrounds work on the Pro and Ultra quality settings. Base always renders a solid background. See On Base below for what happens there.

One leather lounge chair rendered on a transparent background, shown over a checkerboard and then placed on a sand backdrop and a dark green backdrop

How to ask

There is nothing to switch on. Say it the way you would say it to a designer:

A ceramic coffee mug in matte sage green, product cutout on a transparent background.

Our logo as a round sticker, no background.

Cut the sofa out of @this photo on a transparent background.

Vizzy recognises "transparent background", "no background", "cutout", "PNG with transparency" and similar wording, and renders with a real alpha channel. Writing it into the description alone is not what does it: Vizzy sets transparency as a separate render setting, which is why it only works on models that support it.

Two ways in:

  • From a description. Describe the object and ask for a transparent background. Vizzy renders the object on its own, without a floor, a room or a backdrop.
  • From your photo. Attach a photo and ask Vizzy to cut out the product, the furniture or the car. Everything else is removed and the object keeps its shape, materials and colours.

On Base

The Base model cannot render transparency. If you ask for it while Base is selected, nothing renders and nothing is charged. Vizzy tells you transparency needs Pro or Ultra, and a card under the reply lets you choose:

  • Use Pro or Use Ultra, when your plan includes them. The chat switches to that quality and renders your request with a transparent background. Your next renders in the chat stay on it until you change it.
  • Upgrade for transparency, when your plan has neither, or Get more Pro renders when you have used this month's Pro renders.
  • Continue without transparency, which renders the same request on Base with a plain light backdrop.

Batches and plans

Several images at once work the same way: ask for "four icons on a transparent background" and every one comes back transparent. A plan you approve keeps the transparency it was written with. See Batch generation.

Tips

  • Say what has to go. "No floor, no shadow" gives the cleanest edge. Ask for a shadow only if you want it baked into the image.
  • One object per image cuts out most cleanly. For a set, ask for several images rather than many objects in one.
  • Download the PNG. The preview in the chat shows the object over the page background; the file you download keeps the transparency.

From your own code or assistant

  • REST API: send "background": "transparent" to POST /api/v1/render/image, with a model that supports it. GET /api/v1/models marks those with transparent_background: true. See the REST API.
  • MCP: the render_image tool takes background: "transparent" with quality pro (the default) or ultra. Ask your assistant for a transparent background and it sets it. See Visualizee MCP.
